Aesclepian Healing

Hi Everyone,  This week's exercise was easier for me than most, I was able to focus on my "spiritual" mentor we a sense of clam and reality.  I was surprised I was able to accopmplish this because I have a lot going on right not and my mind is full of needles chatter.  But maybe this was something I truly needed.  The quote saying "One cannot lead another where one has not gone"  has been a saying that I try to live by myself.  It's like the saying about walking so many miles in someone else's shoes.  How can we preach something we have not done, by not being in the circumstance ourselves.  How can we ask others to go where we ourselves have not traveled?  I think people in the profession of getting others well have an obligation to do as they preach; for they need to set an example to their patients a well as understanding what difficulty one may have with a certain practice or procedure.  I can implement psychological and spiritual growth in my own life by research, practice and patience and apply what I have learned in this class to eventually get me to optimal health in body, mind and spirit.  For only with understanding and practicing the steps to wholeness can we truly achieve optimal health.  Thanks for reading!  Have a great week!  ~Kat~

  1. Hello Kathy,
I really had a difficult time with picturing my spiritual mentor. I should have focused on Mary or Jesus. I am little concerned that I didn't. I think my brain was just in overdrive from work. Needless to say, I will work on this exercise some more. I am glad you had success. My goal... I want to literally glow in spiritual, psychological and physical wellness.

    Thank you for sharing.

  2. I agree with you about the saying "One cannot lead another where one has not gone". If a person has not gone through or done what they are preaching then they really have no clue what they are talking about. It is so much easier to listen to people that have actully gone through what I have gone through. I also agree that being a health care profesional I need to practice what I preach. I am a personal trainer and registerd nurse and I preach to my clients and patients about how a proper diet and physical workout plan will improve their overall mental, physical and emotional confidence and wellbeing. Since I preach this to them I make sure that I eat a well balanced diet and exercise 7 days a week. I refuse to preach something that I am not willing to do. Great job this week.
