Hi All!
The sublte mind activity for me was extremely relaxing, I did find at time my mind had a tendency to wander but I was able to bring back to my focus point. I think this exercise was helpful to realize how often our minds have a tendeny to get off of track; but through patience and training we are able to focus are minds back to where they need to be. This exercise also gave me time to reflect on my own issues of a over busy thinking mind and what I can do to bring it to the state I need it to be at any time or place. I believe that the sublte mind and loving kindness exercises have a few things in common one is the concentration of breathing and the other is to clear your mind of unwanted thoughts. They are different because the lovingkindness one has you concentrate more on feelings and how you should perceive others and how you want the best for others; whereas the subtle mind practice is more about you and how your mind works and ways to clear it of unnessary chatter.
Thanks for reading! ~Kat~
I agree Kat. Sometimes we don't realize how often our minds get off track and away from us until an exercise like this makes up more aware. I also enjoy the suble mind practice and feel the benefits of clearing the mind and getting rid of all things in the background that can cause stress and distractions.
